Our story

As the first generation of immigrants from Slovakia, we (Elena and Vlado) were often looking for traditional Slovak foods made with natural ingredients, using our traditional recipes, mainly around the Christmas time. Mass production of food usually takes away the purity and heirloom recipes. Ingredients are exchanged for hard to pronounce chemical substances rather than spices.

Therefore, In October 2021 we have come together to produce our own homemade sausages based on generations old Slovak recipe. Our friends and families liked our first batch and very soon after we produced the next one. We had listened to our consumers and slightly changed the recipe 3 times to create the perfect balance of meat, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and caraway that we proudly offer today.

Our sausages were also brought to Embassy of Slovakia to Washington D.C., where we were subsequently invited to present Slovak culture during the Embassy Open House in May 2022. This invitation led to the beginning of our journey as fully licensed Klovel Meat L.L.C. Since May 2022 we offered our grilled and smoked sausages together with hearty beans soup in several street festivals in NY and NJ.
